The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM replacement for the Goodman GCH950453BXAC gas furnace. The flame sensor (flame rod) confirms to the control board that the burners have ignited by measuring the micro-amp current that flows through the flame. When the sensing rod oxidizes or cracks, the board can no longer prove flame and shuts the gas valve within seconds — producing the classic symptom of a furnace that lights, runs briefly, then short-cycles and locks out. Installing a clean OEM sensor is the most common fix for this failure.
The genuine Goodman OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and mounting bracket geometry so it sits in the proper flame envelope for a stable signal. Generic rods may sense a weaker current or mount at the wrong depth, leading to intermittent flame-loss faults that are frustrating to diagnose.
Easy (2 of 5). Turn off power and gas, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the sensor wire, and install the new rod. Route the wire clear of hot metal. About 15 minutes with a nut driver. Avoid touching the new rod with bare fingers to prevent contamination.
Restore reliable ignition on your GCH95 furnace with a genuine Goodman flame sensor.
