The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor rod designed for the GCH90453BXAA gas furnace. The flame sensor confirms a burner flame is present after ignition by conducting a tiny microamp current through the flame back to the control board. When the sensor rod becomes coated with oxide or carbon, that current drops and the furnace shuts the gas valve within seconds — the classic symptom of a furnace that lights, runs briefly, then short-cycles or locks out. Replacing a worn sensor is one of the most common and cost-effective furnace repairs.
The OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, ceramic insulator rating, and mounting bracket to seat exactly in the burner assembly, ensuring a strong, stable flame signal. Generic sensors may sit at the wrong depth in the flame, producing weak or intermittent readings that trigger the same lockout you're trying to fix. OEM guarantees a proper flame-rectification path.
Easy (DIY-friendly). Usually a single screw and one wire connector — 10–15 minutes. Shut off power and gas first, and avoid touching the ceramic insulator with bare fingers.
