The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for AMVM970603BNAA modulating variable-speed gas furnaces. This sensor confirms the burners have lit by passing a small microamp current through the flame; when the rod becomes oxidized or coated with silica, the signal weakens and the control board closes the gas valve — the number-one cause of a furnace that lights, runs a few seconds, then shuts off (short-cycling and ignition lockout). Replacing a worn flame sensor is one of the most cost-effective repairs for restoring reliable heat.
This genuine OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and ceramic insulator so the flame current stays within your control board's proving range. Generic rods often sit at the wrong depth in the flame, producing marginal signals that trigger intermittent lockouts down the road.
Easy (DIY-friendly). One mounting screw and one push-on wire — about 10 minutes. Shut off power and gas, and avoid touching the ceramic with bare fingers. Tip: if your old sensor is only dirty, light sanding may buy time, but a cracked insulator always requires replacement.
