The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification sensor for the Amana/Goodman AMVC960803BNBA gas furnace. The flame rod confirms to the control board that a flame is present after ignition; if it can't detect adequate micro-amp current, the board closes the gas valve and locks out. A dirty, cracked, or worn flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off (short-cycling on flame failure).
The OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, bracket, and connector for a reliable micro-amp signal. Generic sensors may fit physically but produce a weaker or noisier signal that triggers false lockouts. For dependable ignition proving, OEM is preferred.
Easy — DIY-friendly. Typically one screw and a single push-on wire. Kill power, remove the old rod, install the new sensor, and restore power. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers.
