The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification sensor for the Goodman/Amana AMVC960603BNAA gas furnace. It sits in the burner flame and confirms to the control board that ignition succeeded. When the sensor becomes oxidized, cracked, or coated in silica, the board can no longer detect flame and shuts the gas valve as a safety measure — producing the classic symptom of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off (short-cycling) or locks out with a flame-sense fault.
Replacing a worn flame sensor is one of the most common and cost-effective furnace repairs, restoring reliable ignition and eliminating nuisance lockouts.
OEM vs. Generic: The OEM 0130F00010S has the correct rod length, bend, and mounting-hole spacing so it lands precisely in the flame path. Generic sensors that sit too shallow or at the wrong angle give a weak microamp signal and can cause the same lockouts you're trying to fix.
Install difficulty: Easy (2/5). Disconnect power, unplug the single wire, remove one mounting screw, and swap in the new sensor — avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. A light emery-cloth cleaning at each annual service keeps it performing.
