The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the AMVC81005CNBC 80% AFUE two-stage variable-speed gas furnace. The sensor confirms a flame is present after ignition by passing a small microamp rectified current through the flame; if the control board doesn't read that signal, it shuts the gas valve for safety. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame rod is the single most common cause of furnaces that light and then shut off (short cycling) or fail to stay lit.
OEM vs. Generic: The genuine Goodman rod uses the correct probe length, bracket angle, and high-temperature insulator so it sits in the flame envelope exactly where the control expects. Generic sensors can read a weak or unstable microamp signal, causing nuisance lockouts. For reliable flame proving, OEM is recommended.
Install difficulty: Easy — typically one screw and a single spade connector, 10–15 minutes. Shut off power and gas first, and avoid touching the ceramic insulator with bare hands.
