The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the genuine OEM flame-rectification sensor for the Amana/Goodman AMVC80805DNCA gas furnace. The flame sensor confirms that a flame is present after ignition; if the control board doesn't detect the microamp signal from this rod, it shuts off the gas valve for safety. A weak, corroded, or failed sensor is the single most common cause of furnace short-cycling and intermittent no-heat lockouts.
OEM flame sensors are manufactured with the exact rod length, alloy, and insulator rating specified for this burner assembly, ensuring a stable flame signal over the life of the part. Generic sensors can fit dimensionally but may drift, oxidize faster, or produce a marginal microamp reading that triggers nuisance lockouts. For a mission-critical safety component, OEM is strongly recommended.
Easy. This is a single-screw, single-wire replacement — typically a 10–15 minute job. Power down the furnace, remove the mounting screw, unplug the spade terminal, and install the new sensor. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers, and clean the surrounding area before reassembly.
