The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a direct-fit replacement for the Goodman/Amana AMVC80805CXBC 80% two-stage variable-speed gas furnace. The flame sensor (flame rod) verifies that the burners have ignited by conducting a tiny microamp signal through the flame back to the control board. When the rod becomes oxidized or cracked, the furnace lights briefly then shuts down on a flame-sense fault — the classic symptom of short cycling and repeated lockouts.
Our OEM Goodman sensor is built to the exact rod length, insulator rating, and terminal geometry of the original, guaranteeing a stable microamp signal and correct board communication. Universal generic sensors often require rod bending and can produce a weak or noisy signal that causes intermittent lockouts. Choose OEM for a plug-and-play repair that lasts.
Easy — typically a 10–15 minute job. Shut off power and gas, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the wire, install the new sensor, and restore power. A common first repair for no-heat calls.
Always de-energize the furnace at the disconnect before servicing.
