The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor (flame rod) for the AMVC80805CNBB gas furnace. During each heating cycle the sensor uses flame rectification to confirm the burner has actually lit; if it does not detect a flame within the trial-for-ignition window, the control board shuts off the gas valve as a safety measure. A dirty, cracked, or failed flame sensor is one of the most common causes of furnace short-cycling and ignition lockout, making this an inexpensive, high-impact repair part.
This factory Goodman sensor has the correct rod length, bend, ceramic insulator, and terminal to sit precisely in the burner flame and read the microamp signal your control board expects. Generic sensors that are too long, too short, or mounted at the wrong angle can produce a weak or intermittent flame signal, leading to nuisance lockouts. For reliable flame proving, the OEM part is recommended.
This is one of the simplest furnace repairs. Shut off power and gas, remove the burner-compartment panel, unscrew the single mounting screw, unplug the wire lead, and install the new sensor. Avoid touching the metal rod with bare fingers. Most homeowners complete the swap in 10–15 minutes with a 1/4" nut driver. If a new sensor does not resolve short-cycling, have a technician check the control board and grounding.
