The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod built for the AMVC80805CNAA variable-speed gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. The flame sensor confirms that a flame is present after ignition by generating a small microamp rectification signal to the control board. When the sensor becomes dirty, cracked, or worn, the furnace will light briefly then shut down (short-cycling) or lock out on ignition failure — the single most common no-heat call in the field.
The genuine OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod alloy, length, and mounting bracket so it sits precisely in the flame path and reads a stable, strong microamp signal. Generic universal sensors may need bending to position, can read low, and often fail prematurely from the wrong material. For a reliable flame-proving signal, the OEM sensor is the safe choice.
Easy — A common DIY repair. Turn off power and gas, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the wire lead, and install the new sensor. Do not sand a new OEM sensor — install it clean and dry. Restore power and confirm a steady flame.
