The genuine OEM Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the flame-rectification rod for the Amana/Goodman AMVC80804CXBD 80,000 BTU variable-speed gas furnace. The sensor confirms that a flame is present after ignition by passing a small microamp current through the flame to ground. If the control board doesn't detect that signal, it closes the gas valve for safety — which is why a dirty or failed flame sensor is the single most common cause of furnace short-cycling and ignition lockouts.
The genuine Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and insulator rating to produce a stable flame signal on this furnace's control board. Generic sensors can read low microamps, degrade quickly, or seat incorrectly against the flame — causing recurring lockouts. For reliable ignition, OEM is the recommended replacement.
Easy. Shut off power, remove the single mounting screw, disconnect the wire lead, and install the new sensor — about 10–15 minutes. One of the most common and beginner-friendly furnace repairs. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers; handle by the ceramic base.
