The genuine OEM Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the factory flame-rectification rod for the Amana/Goodman AMVC80603BXBD 80% AFUE gas furnace. The sensor sits in the burner flame and passes a tiny microamp current to the control board, confirming ignition. When the rod becomes oxidized, cracked, or weak, the board can't prove flame and shuts the gas valve — the classic symptom is a furnace that lights briefly then shuts down (short cycling) or locks out on no-heat.
OEM vs. Generic: The genuine 0130F00010S has the correct rod length, ceramic insulator, and bracket to sit precisely in the flame envelope. Generic sensors often mis-position the rod, producing weak or unstable flame signal and repeat lockouts. For reliable ignition proving, OEM is the recommended part.
Install difficulty: Easy (10–15 min). Shut off power, unplug the single wire, remove one screw, and install the new sensor in the exact position. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. If you're troubleshooting short cycling, replacing this inexpensive sensor is the first and most common fix before condemning the control board.
