The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the AMVC800804CNAB two-stage variable-speed 80% AFUE gas furnace and related AMVC8/GMVC8 models. The flame sensor confirms the burner has lit by conducting a micro-amp rectified current through the flame; if the control board doesn't sense that current, it shuts off the gas valve for safety. A dirty or failed flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights then shuts down after a few seconds (short-cycling on flame loss).
This genuine Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and ceramic insulator so it sits in the proper flame envelope and reads a stable signal. Generic sensors may sit too shallow, read low micro-amps, and cause intermittent lockouts. For a reliable flame signal, OEM is the safe choice.
A 10-minute repair. Kill power, remove one screw, pull the spade connector, install the new sensor, and reconnect. Tip: if you're already in there, gently clean any residue and verify the flame current reads within spec after restart.
