This genuine OEM Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the flame-rectification rod that confirms the burner has lit on your AMVC800604BXAB furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. The sensor passes a small microamp current through the flame to the control board; if the board doesn't detect that signal within a few seconds of ignition, it shuts off the gas valve as a safety measure. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is one of the most common causes of a furnace that lights and then shuts down (short cycling) or fails to stay in heat.
OEM vs. Generic: The Goodman OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, ceramic insulator, and terminal so the flame-signal microamps read within your control board's spec. Generic sensors of the wrong length or alloy can produce weak or erratic flame signals, causing intermittent lockouts even when the burner is firing. For reliable flame proving, use the genuine part.
Installation difficulty: Easy (1 of 5). This is a 10–15 minute repair and one of the most DIY-friendly furnace parts. Shut off power, remove the single mounting screw, pull the sensor from the burner area, unplug the wire, and install the new sensor in the same position. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. If a new sensor doesn't resolve the fault, inspect the flame quality, ground connection, and control board.
