The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the AMVC800604BNAA gas furnace and compatible Goodman and Amana models. The flame sensor confirms that burner flame is present after ignition; when it degrades or oxidizes, the control board loses the flame signal and shuts the burners down — causing short-cycling, ignition lockout, or a furnace that lights then quits after a few seconds.
The OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, alloy, and ceramic insulator so it reads a stable microamp flame signal on the factory control board. Aftermarket rods may sit at the wrong depth in the flame envelope, produce a weak signal, and trigger nuisance lockouts. For a reliable ignition sequence, OEM is strongly preferred.
Difficulty: Easy. Turn off gas and power, remove the burner-compartment door, unscrew the sensor, unplug the lead, and reverse to install. No calibration required. Tip: light abrasion of a dirty sensor can sometimes restore signal, but a cracked insulator or pitted rod should be replaced. Restore power and confirm a clean flame signal and normal heat cycle after installation.
