The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the Amana/Goodman AMS81005CXAB gas furnace. Positioned in the burner flame, it confirms to the control board that ignition succeeded by carrying a tiny rectified microamp current through the flame. A dirty, cracked, or worn sensor is one of the most common causes of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off (short-cycling on failed flame proof).
OEM vs. Generic: Flame sensors must present the correct rod length, position, and insulation resistance for the control board to read a proper microamp signal. This OEM sensor matches the furnace's burner geometry exactly. Generic rods that sit too far from the flame or use inferior insulators can produce weak or erratic signals and repeat lockouts.
Install difficulty: Easy (2/5). Typically one mounting screw and a single quick-connect wire — about 10 minutes and one of the simplest furnace repairs. Shut off power and gas first, and lightly clean the burner area before installing the new sensor.
