The Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor is the flame-rectification rod that confirms burner ignition on the AMH81405DXCF gas furnace. It generates a small microamp signal when flame is present; if the control board doesn't sense that current within a few seconds, it closes the gas valve and locks out for safety. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off (short-cycling on ignition).
The genuine Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and porcelain insulator to sit properly in the flame envelope and produce a stable signal. Generic sensors often mis-position in the flame or degrade quickly, returning you to lockout faults. OEM is the reliable long-term fix.
Easy (1/5). Shut off power, remove one screw and the quick-connect wire, and swap the rod. Handle only by the porcelain — skin oils foul the tip. A 5-minute repair that resolves most no-heat/short-cycle complaints.
