This genuine Goodman/Amana 0130F00010S flame sensor is the factory rectification rod for the AMH81405DNAC gas furnace and many compatible Goodman/Amana models. The sensor confirms a flame is present after ignition; when the rod becomes coated with oxide or the microamp signal drops, the control board shuts the gas valve and your furnace short-cycles — lighting for a few seconds, then dropping out. Installing the correct OEM sensor restores a clean flame-rectification signal and steady heating cycles.
Aftermarket flame rods may sit at a slightly different height or angle in the flame, producing a weak or unstable microamp reading that trips intermittent lockouts. This OEM Goodman sensor uses the exact rod geometry and mounting for the AMH8 burner box, so it reads a strong, stable signal right out of the box.
Turn off power, remove the single mounting screw, pull the spade connector, and install the new sensor. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. A five-minute job for most DIYers — often the cheapest fix for a short-cycling furnace.
