The Goodman/Amana 0130F00010S flame sensor is the flame-rectification rod that proves the burner has lit on the AMH81205DNAA furnace and compatible Goodman-family models. It carries a tiny microamp current through the flame back to the control board; when the rod oxidizes or the signal weakens, the board closes the gas valve as a safety response — producing the classic symptom of the furnace lighting for a few seconds, then shutting off (short-cycling), often after several retries and a lockout.
The Genuine OEM sensor uses Goodman's exact rod length, bend, and bracket so it sits correctly in the flame envelope and returns a strong microamp signal. Generic sensors may position the rod incorrectly, causing weak signal and persistent nuisance lockouts even when clean. For reliable flame proving, OEM fitment matters.
Easy. Disconnect power, unplug the sensor wire, remove one screw, and install the new rod in the same position. Avoid touching the rod tip with bare hands. Most owners finish in 10–15 minutes; a flame-current reading afterward confirms a healthy signal.
Confirm the rod shape and part number against your existing sensor before ordering.
