The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the Amana/Goodman AMH80803BNBC gas furnace. The sensor proves the presence of a flame after ignition by conducting a microamp rectified current; if the control board doesn't sense adequate flame signal, it closes the gas valve as a safety measure. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights and then shuts down after a few seconds (short-cycling).
OEM vs. Generic: The OEM sensor has the exact rod length, bend, and ceramic insulator position needed to sit correctly in the burner flame. Universal sensors often need bending and may give weak or unstable microamp readings — the OEM 0130F00010S restores a strong, reliable flame signal the first time.
Install difficulty: Easy (1 of 5). Cut power, remove one screw, unplug the single wire, and install the new sensor. A 5–10 minute repair. Tip: if you're not replacing, gently cleaning the rod with fine abrasive often restores operation — but a pitted sensor should be replaced.
