The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the AMH80704BXCA gas furnace and compatible Goodman and Amana models. Positioned in the burner flame, the sensor confirms to the control board that ignition has occurred by conducting a small microamp current through the flame. When the rod becomes oxidized or cracked, the board can no longer prove flame and shuts the burners down — the classic symptom of a furnace that lights, runs briefly, then short-cycles or locks out.
The OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, alloy, and mounting geometry so it sits precisely in the flame envelope and returns a strong, stable signal to the control board. Generic sensors that sit too shallow or use inferior metal produce weak flame current and recurring lockouts. For a reliable ignition sequence, the genuine OEM sensor is the best value.
Easy (1/5). Turn off power, unplug the single spade wire, remove one screw, and install the new sensor in the same position. Takes about 10 minutes. Tip: after installing, gently clean any handling residue with a fine abrasive pad and confirm the rod is fully in the flame path. Most call-backs are simply a dirty sensor — but a cracked or corroded rod requires replacement.
