The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor (flame rod) that confirms the burners have actually lit by reading the tiny rectified microamp current a flame conducts to ground. It is a direct-fit replacement for the AMH80704BNAA and related Goodman/Amana furnaces. When the rod oxidizes or the current drops too low, the control board can't prove flame and shuts the gas valve within seconds — the classic symptom being a furnace that lights then short cycles off, or locks out after several tries. Installing a clean OEM sensor restores a strong, steady flame signal and reliable heat.
The OEM Goodman sensor matches the factory rod length, bracket angle, and terminal so it sits in the correct spot in the flame for full signal strength. Generic rods can mount at the wrong depth and read a weak signal, causing the same lockouts you're trying to fix. OEM ensures correct positioning and a stable flame-proving current.
Easy (1/5). Kill power, pull the wire terminal, remove one screw, and install the new sensor — avoid touching the rod tip. A frequent field tip: many no-heat calls are cured simply by replacing (not just cleaning) an old, pitted flame rod.
Shut off electrical power before servicing. Use a licensed HVAC technician if unsure.
