The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the Amana/Goodman AMH80604BXBD gas furnace. The sensor confirms a flame is present after ignition by conducting a small microamp current through the flame; if it doesn't detect a flame, the control board closes the gas valve for safety. A dirty, corroded, or failed flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off (short cycling) or locks out with no heat.
The genuine OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and ceramic insulator so it sits precisely in the flame and returns a strong, stable microamp signal. Generic rods often mis-locate in the burner flame, producing weak signals and intermittent lockouts. For reliable flame proving, factory-spec is best.
Easy — usually one mounting screw and a single quick-connect wire. Cut power first. Tip: many no-heat calls are solved simply by cleaning the existing sensor with fine abrasive pad; replace if pitted or cracked.
