The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM replacement engineered for the Amana/Goodman AMH80403AXBD gas furnace and compatible 80% AFUE models. The flame sensor is a critical safety component: it uses flame rectification to confirm that the burners have actually ignited. If the control board doesn't receive a proper flame signal within a few seconds, it shuts the gas valve to prevent unburned fuel from accumulating. A dirty, corroded, or cracked sensor is the single most common cause of short-cycling and lockout faults on this furnace platform.
This is the factory OEM sensor — exact rod length, mounting bracket, and terminal orientation, so it seats correctly on the first try and reads a stable microamp signal. Generic universal sensors often require bending the rod or adapting the connector, which can produce a weak flame signal and repeat nuisance lockouts. For a safety-critical part, the OEM fit is worth it.
Easy (1/5). Cut power at the furnace, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the wire, and swap the sensor in 5–10 minutes. Tip: even a new sensor benefits from confirming a clean burner and tight ground. Always shut off power and gas before servicing, and if you're unsure, have a licensed HVAC technician complete the repair.
