The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor (flame rod) built for the AMEC961205DNAC gas furnace. The flame sensor confirms that a flame is present after ignition by generating a small microamp rectification signal to the control board. When the rod becomes oxidized, cracked, or coated in silica, the signal drops and the furnace shuts down the burners as a safety measure — the classic cause of short cycling and intermittent no-heat faults.
Genuine OEM sensors use the correct rod length, alloy, and ceramic insulator to sit precisely in the burner flame for a stable signal. Generic sensors often mis-position in the flame, producing weak or unstable microamp readings that lead to nuisance lockouts. For a reliable long-term fix, OEM is the better value.
Easy. Typically a single mounting screw and one wire connector — a 10–15 minute job. Shut off power and gas first, remove the old sensor, install the new rod, and gently clean adjacent surfaces. A great DIY repair for restoring reliable ignition.
