The 0130F00010S is a genuine Goodman/Amana flame sensor for the AMEC961004CNAB gas furnace. This flame-rectification rod sits in the burner flame and sends a small microamp signal to the control board confirming that ignition has occurred. If the board does not detect that current within the trial-for-ignition window, it closes the gas valve for safety. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts down (short-cycling on flame failure).
The OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, bracket, and Kanthal-grade sensing wire for a stable flame signal on this furnace. Universal flame rods may sit at the wrong depth in the flame and produce weak or erratic microamp readings. For dependable ignition proving, use the OEM sensor.
Easy (2/5). Power off, remove the burner-compartment door, unplug the single wire, remove one screw, and swap the sensor. Handle the ceramic base gently. After install, a flame-current reading of 2–6 µA confirms proper operation.
