The 0130F00010S flame sensor is the flame-rectification rod for the Goodman/Amana AMEC960803BNAC gas furnace. It confirms to the control board that the burners have actually lit, allowing the board to keep the gas valve open. A dirty, cracked, or worn flame rod is the single most common cause of furnaces that light for a few seconds and then shut down (flame-loss lockout) — the board sees a weak microamp signal and closes the gas valve as a safety measure.
This genuine OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, insulator, and bracket geometry so it sits precisely in the burner flame envelope. Generic flame rods frequently have the wrong rod angle or reach, producing an inconsistent flame signal and repeat lockouts. For a reliable, correctly-positioned flame proof, OEM is the safer choice.
Rating: Easy (1 of 5). One mounting screw and one wire connector — about 10 minutes. Turn off gas and power first. While the sensor is out, gently clean adjacent surfaces; never sand the new rod. Verify operation with a licensed technician if lockouts persist.
