The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the AMEC960803BNAA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana units. Positioned in the burner flame, the sensor conducts a small microamp current that proves ignition to the control board. When the rod oxidizes or cracks, the board can no longer confirm flame and closes the gas valve within seconds — producing the classic symptom of a furnace that lights, runs briefly, then shuts off and repeats (short-cycling).
OEM vs. Generic: The OEM 0130F00010S uses Goodman's exact rod length, bend, and insulator so it sits correctly in the flame and returns a strong microamp signal. Generic sensors that sit too high or low in the flame read weak current and cause intermittent lockouts. For dependable flame proving, install the genuine OEM sensor.
Install difficulty: Easy (1/5). Power off the furnace, remove the single mounting screw and the sensor lead, install the new rod in the same orientation, and reconnect. Basic screwdriver required; installation takes about ten minutes and often resolves no-heat and short-cycle complaints.
