The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-proving rod that confirms the burner has lit. It generates a small microamp rectified current through the flame; if the control board doesn't see that signal, it shuts off the gas valve as a safety measure. A dirty or failing flame sensor is one of the most common causes of a furnace that lights briefly and then shuts down (short-cycling on ignition lockout). This is the factory-correct part for the Amana/Goodman AMEC960603ANAA gas furnace.
Genuine OEM uses the correct rod length, alloy, and bracket angle so the tip sits properly in the flame for a stable microamp signal. Generic rods are often mispositioned, leading to weak flame signal and repeat lockouts. For a reliable ignition sequence, OEM is worth it.
Easy (2/5). Shut off power and gas, remove one screw, unplug the wire, and swap. Tip: gently clean the rod with fine steel wool or emery cloth during service — never sandpaper the ceramic insulator.
