The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the AMEC960403ANAA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. After ignition, the control board sends a small AC voltage to this rod; the flame conducts a tiny DC microamp signal (flame rectification) back to the board, proving a flame is present. If the sensor is dirty, corroded, or failed, the board reads no flame and shuts the gas valve within seconds — causing short-cycling or a no-heat lockout. This is one of the most common and inexpensive causes of intermittent furnace shutdowns.
Flame sensing depends on the rod's exact length, bend, and alloy so it sits properly in the flame and generates a strong, stable microamp signal. The OEM Goodman 0130F00010S is built to that spec. Generic rods may position poorly in the flame, produce a weak signal, or corrode quickly — leading back to the same short-cycling you're trying to fix. Choose OEM for a lasting repair.
Easy (2/5). Turn off power and gas. Remove the single mounting screw, unplug the sensor wire, and install the new rod in the same orientation. Do not touch the rod tip with bare fingers. Reconnect, restore power, and confirm a steady flame signal. Typical replacement takes 10–15 minutes.
Cure no-heat and short-cycling faults with the genuine Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor.
