The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor for Amana/Goodman gas furnaces, including the AMEC800805CXAA. The flame sensor is a rectification rod that confirms the burner has lit; if it doesn't detect flame within a few seconds, the control board closes the gas valve for safety. A dirty, cracked, or worn sensor is one of the most common causes of a furnace that ignites and then shuts off — the classic short-cycle / lockout symptom.
Flame sensors must produce a strong, stable microamp signal that your specific control board expects. This genuine OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and bracket geometry so it sits properly in the flame and reads reliably. Cheap generic rods often position incorrectly and cause intermittent lockouts. For a dependable fix, OEM is worth it.
Easy. Turn off power, remove one mounting screw and the wire terminal, and install the new sensor in the same position. About 10–15 minutes. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers, and confirm the burner stays lit after installation.
Turn off electrical power before servicing. Verify the part number against your unit before ordering.
