The Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor is the factory OEM flame-rectification rod for the Amana/Goodman AMEC800803BXAB gas furnace. After ignition, this sensor confirms that a flame is actually present by conducting a tiny microamp current through the flame; if no flame is detected, the control board closes the gas valve to prevent unburned gas from accumulating. A dirty, oxidized, or cracked flame sensor is one of the most common causes of a furnace that lights briefly and then shuts off (short-cycling) or locks out with a no-heat fault.
The genuine Goodman OEM sensor matches the exact rod length, bracket, and terminal your control board expects, ensuring a reliable microamp signal. Generic sensors can sit at the wrong depth in the flame or produce a marginal signal, leading to intermittent lockouts. For a signal-critical safety part, OEM is the reliable choice.
Easy. Turn off power, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the wire terminal, and install the new sensor in the same position. Most homeowners complete this in 10–15 minutes with a nut driver.
Disconnect power before servicing. If replacing the sensor does not resolve short-cycling, inspect wiring and control-board grounding.
