The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the ADVC80603BNBA gas furnace. The sensor confirms a flame is present after ignition by conducting a tiny microamp current through the flame; if it reads no flame, the control board closes the gas valve for safety. A dirty, corroded, or cracked sensor is one of the most common causes of furnace short-cycling and ignition lockouts, where the burners light briefly then shut off. Installing a fresh OEM sensor restores a reliable flame signal.
The genuine OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and mounting bracket so it sits precisely in the flame envelope for a strong, stable microamp signal. Generic sensors may mount at the wrong depth or angle, producing weak or erratic readings and continued lockouts. For a sensing component, exact positioning is everything.
Easy (2/5). Power down the furnace, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the sensor wire, and install the new rod in the same position. About 10 minutes. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers — oils can foul the surface. If issues persist, verify the burner ground and control board.
