The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor confirms the presence of a burner flame on the ACVM971005CNBA gas furnace. Using flame rectification, the sensor sends a micro-amp signal to the control board to verify ignition; if no flame is detected, the board shuts off the gas valve for safety. A dirty or failed flame rod is one of the most common causes of furnaces that light briefly then shut down (short-cycling on flame loss).
This OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, bracket angle, and terminal to seat properly in the burner flame and read a stable signal. Generic sensors may sit too high or low in the flame, producing weak or erratic micro-amp readings and intermittent lockouts. OEM ensures consistent ignition.
Easy (1/5). Shut off power, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the wire, and install the new sensor—avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. Many no-heat issues are solved simply by replacing or gently cleaning this part. If lockouts persist after replacement, have a technician check the ground and control board.
