The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the factory flame-rectification rod used by the ACVM970603BNBA modulating furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. It confirms the presence of a burner flame by passing a micro-amp rectified current to the control board. If the board does not sense flame within the trial-for-ignition window, it shuts the gas valve and the furnace locks out — making the flame sensor one of the most common no-heat service items.
A dirty, corroded, or cracked sensor causes intermittent ignition, short cycling, and lockouts. While a coated rod can sometimes be cleaned, a weak or damaged sensor should be replaced with the correct OEM part.
The OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, ceramic insulator rating, and mounting bracket so it sits precisely in the burner flame for a stable signal. Generic rods may sit too high or low in the flame, producing a marginal micro-amp reading and recurring nuisance lockouts. OEM ensures a clean, repeatable flame-proving signal.
Easy (1/5). Single mounting screw and one push-on wire lead — usually a 10-minute job. Shut off power and gas before servicing. Handle the ceramic insulator carefully and avoid touching the rod with bare fingers.
