The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod built for the Goodman/Amana ACVC961005CNAA condensing gas furnace and compatible 96% AFUE models. The sensor confirms a flame is present after ignition by passing a small microamp current through the flame; if the control board doesn't see that signal, it closes the gas valve as a safety measure.
Over time the rod develops an insulating oxide and silica coating that weakens the flame-sense signal — the classic cause of furnaces that light briefly then shut off (short-cycling) and eventually go into ignition lockout. While cleaning can help temporarily, a degraded sensor should be replaced with the correct OEM part for dependable starts.
This genuine Goodman OEM sensor matches the original rod length, bend, ceramic insulator, and mounting bracket so it seats correctly in the burner flame. Generic flame sensors frequently position the rod incorrectly, producing weak or unstable microamp readings and repeat lockouts. OEM fit means a clean, reliable flame signal.
Difficulty: Easy (1/5). Remove one mounting screw, unplug the spade terminal, and install the replacement — typically under 10 minutes. Shut off power and gas before servicing. After installation, verify a steady flame-sense microamp reading if you have a meter.
