The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the flame-rectification rod for the Goodman ACVC960804CNAA 96% AFUE two-stage variable-speed gas furnace. After ignition, the control board sends a microamp signal through this rod to confirm the burner is lit; if the signal is too weak, the board closes the gas valve as a safety measure. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off after a few seconds and repeats.
The OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, mounting bracket, and terminal so it sits the proper distance into the burner flame for a strong, stable microamp signal. Generic sensors often require bending or shimming and can produce marginal readings. For reliable flame proving, choose the genuine Goodman part.
Easy (2/5). Remove the burner access panel, pull the single wire connector, and remove one mounting screw. Shut off power and gas first. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. Typical install time: 10–15 minutes. Tip: handle the porcelain insulator carefully — it should never crack.
