The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the flame-rectification rod that confirms burner ignition on ACSS961005CNAA gas furnaces. After the igniter lights the burners, this sensor verifies a flame is present; if it doesn't detect one, the control board closes the gas valve for safety. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is the single most common cause of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts off (short cycling) or fails to stay lit.
This factory OEM Goodman sensor uses the correct rod length, material, and mounting geometry to produce a strong, stable microamp signal. Generic flame rods can sit at the wrong position in the flame and give weak or erratic readings, leading to repeat lockouts. The OEM part restores reliable ignition.
Easy (2 of 5). Power down the furnace, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the wire, and install the new sensor. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers — skin oils degrade the signal. A 5–10 minute repair.
If you prefer, try gently cleaning the old sensor with fine emery cloth first; if no-heat issues persist, replace it.
