The Goodman 20171701 Drain Trap is a genuine OEM condensate trap assembly built for the Goodman WFD195090S5DAB high-efficiency gas furnace. The trap collects acidic condensate from the secondary heat exchanger and inducer, routes it to the drain, and maintains a water seal that blocks flue gases from escaping into the airstream. A cracked or clogged trap causes water leaks, pressure-switch faults, and repeated ignition lockouts.
OEM vs. Generic: The trap's internal port geometry is matched to the furnace's pressure-switch tubing and drain layout. Genuine OEM 20171701 traps drop in without adapters and hold the correct water column, so the pressure switch reads properly. Generic traps often require rework and can cause false pressure-switch trips. OEM is strongly recommended here.
