The Goodman 20171701 is a genuine OEM condensate drain trap engineered for the GMV950453BXBB high-efficiency (95% AFUE) gas furnace and other compatible Goodman/Amana modulating models. In a condensing furnace, the drain trap holds a water seal that safely routes acidic condensate away from the secondary heat exchanger and inducer while blocking flue gases from escaping into the cabinet. A cracked, clogged, or missing trap is a common cause of nuisance lockouts, pressure-switch faults, and water leaking onto the furnace floor.
This is the factory OEM part, molded to the exact port spacing and barb sizing of the GMV9 chassis so hoses seat without leaks and the pressure-switch reference stays accurate. Generic or universal traps often require adapters, may not seal to Goodman hose barbs, and can throw false pressure faults.
