The Goodman 20171701 condensate drain trap is the OEM sealed trap assembly for the GMH950703BXAF 95% AFUE condensing gas furnace. In high-efficiency furnaces the secondary heat exchanger produces acidic condensate that must drain freely while the trap maintains a water seal to keep pressurized flue gases from escaping into the cabinet. A cracked, clogged, or algae-fouled trap causes pressure-switch faults, water leaks, and nuisance lockouts.
The OEM Goodman 20171701 matches the original port geometry and seal depth exactly, so the pressure switch reads correctly on first startup. Our generic-equivalent trap fits the same footprint at a lower cost and is ideal for straightforward replacements. Both are new and leak-tested.
Easy–Moderate (2 of 5). Disconnect the drain hoses, swap the trap, and re-seat the hose clamps. Flush the new trap and confirm free drainage before restoring power. Expect 20–30 minutes; sealing the connections properly is key to avoiding pressure-switch faults.
