The Goodman 20171701 Condensate Drain Trap is a genuine OEM component for the GKS90905DXAF 90%+ AFUE gas furnace. In high-efficiency furnaces, combustion produces acidic condensate that must drain away safely; this trap holds a water seal that lets condensate exit while blocking flue gases from escaping into the cabinet. A cracked, clogged, or missing trap is a leading cause of water leaks, blocked-drain lockouts, and pressure-switch faults.
The OEM trap matches the exact port spacing, barb sizes, and internal seal geometry of your furnace — no adapters, no leaks, guaranteed fit. Generic universal traps exist but often require re-plumbing the drain hoses and may not seat cleanly against the collector box, risking condensate leaks that void efficiency and can damage the control board.
Easy–Moderate (2/5). Power off the furnace, place a towel to catch residual water, disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses, unclip the old trap, and install the new one. Prime the trap with water before restarting so the seal is established. Plan on 20–30 minutes. If your furnace repeatedly floods the trap, also inspect the drain hose and pressure switch tubing.
