The Goodman 20171701 is a genuine OEM condensate drain trap engineered for the GKS90703BXAG high-efficiency gas furnace. In a 90%+ condensing furnace, the drain trap captures acidic condensate from the secondary heat exchanger and creates a water seal that blocks flue gases from escaping into the drain line. A cracked, clogged, or missing trap is one of the most common causes of pressure-switch lockouts and furnace short-cycling.
This is the factory Goodman component, molded to the exact port spacing and seal geometry of the GKS90 cabinet. Universal generic traps often require adapter fittings and can leak or fail to seat, leading to nuisance faults. The OEM trap drops in and seals on the first try, protecting your warranty.
Easy — Typically a 15–20 minute job. Power down the furnace, disconnect the drain lines, swap the trap, prime it with water, and reconnect. Basic hand tools only. No brazing or electrical work required.
