The Goodman 20171701 is a genuine OEM condensate drain trap designed as a direct-fit replacement for the GCH950703BXAA 96% AFUE gas furnace. In high-efficiency condensing furnaces, the secondary heat exchanger produces acidic condensate that must drain away safely. This trap maintains a water seal that allows condensate to flow out while preventing flue gases and combustion pressure from escaping through the drain line — a key part of both proper operation and safe venting.
The OEM trap is molded to match the exact port spacing, inlet/outlet geometry, and mounting of the GCH95 cabinet.
