The Goodman 0161F00046 Condensate Drain Trap is a genuine OEM component for the AMVC960804CNAA 96% AFUE modulating furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana high-efficiency models. In a condensing furnace, the secondary heat exchanger produces acidic condensate that must drain away while maintaining a gas-tight seal — that is exactly what this trap does.
A cracked, clogged, or missing drain trap is a frequent cause of pressure-switch lockouts, water pooling in the blower compartment, and nuisance shutdowns. Because the trap holds a water seal between the sealed combustion side and the drain line, using the correct OEM trap is essential to prevent flue gases from escaping into the drain or the cabinet.
The OEM 0161F00046 is molded to the exact port spacing and seal height the furnace was designed around.
