The Goodman 20171701 Condensate Drain Trap is a genuine OEM part for the Goodman/Amana AMV90453BXAB 90%+ high-efficiency gas furnace. In a condensing furnace, the secondary heat exchanger produces acidic condensate that must drain freely while maintaining a proper water seal. This trap provides that seal, preventing flue gases from escaping through the drain line while allowing condensate to flow out. A cracked, clogged, or brittle trap causes water leaks, pressure-switch faults, and nuisance shutdowns.
