The Goodman 20171701 Condensate Drain Trap is the OEM drainage component for AMH951155DXAF 95%+ high-efficiency condensing furnaces and compatible Goodman/Amana models. In a condensing furnace the secondary heat exchanger produces acidic condensate that must drain away while the trap's water seal blocks flue gases from escaping into the cabinet. A cracked, clogged, or algae-fouled trap causes water leaks, pressure-switch faults, and lockout codes. This direct-fit replacement restores proper drainage and maintains the pressure integrity the furnace's sequence of operation requires.
The OEM trap matches the exact inlet/outlet port layout, internal baffle, and depth of water seal designed for this furnace. Generic universal traps often require adapters and may not hold the correct seal height, leading to nuisance pressure-switch trips. The OEM part installs clean and seals correctly the first time.
Easy — Power down, disconnect the condensate hoses, remove the old trap, install the new one, and prime it with water before restart. A capable homeowner or technician can complete it in about 20–30 minutes.
