The Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch (light blue) is a genuine OEM safety control engineered for the VCSS960603BNAA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana platforms. This normally-closed thermal switch continuously monitors heat-exchanger and cabinet temperatures, opening the ignition circuit and shutting down the burners if the unit overheats due to restricted airflow, a failed blower, or a dirty filter. It is one of the most important protective components in your furnace.
When this limit trips prematurely or fails to reset, you may see short-cycling, no-heat calls, or a locked-out control board. Replacing the worn switch with the correct light-blue calibrated part restores reliable, safe operation.
This is the factory OEM switch with the exact trip temperature and mounting the furnace was designed for. Aftermarket generics often use a different calibration, which can cause nuisance trips or, worse, fail to protect the equipment. For a safety device, we recommend the OEM part.
A basic 15-minute repair for a handy homeowner or technician: shut off power and gas, unplug the two spade terminals, unscrew the switch from the panel, and mount the replacement in the same orientation. No calibration required. Always de-energize the furnace before servicing.
