The Goodman 0130F00038 auxiliary limit switch is a genuine OEM safety control (identified by its light-blue housing) engineered for the AMH80704BXCB gas furnace and other compatible Goodman and Amana models. This normally-closed thermal switch monitors temperature at a secondary location in the furnace and opens the control circuit if it detects an over-temperature condition, shutting the burners down before heat damages the heat exchanger or surrounding components.
The genuine OEM 0130F00038 is calibrated to the exact trip temperature your furnace's control board expects, so it protects without nuisance tripping. Generic aftermarket limit switches may carry a different trip point or contact rating, which can cause premature lockouts or fail to protect the heat exchanger. For a safety device, we recommend the OEM part.
Difficulty: Easy. A DIY-capable homeowner can typically replace this switch in 15–20 minutes with a nut driver. Always cut power to the furnace at the breaker before servicing, photograph the wiring, and transfer the leads one at a time. If the furnace repeatedly trips on limit after replacement, have a technician verify airflow and blower operation.
If you are unsure whether this is the correct switch for your unit, match your furnace's model and serial plate before ordering, or contact us at info@nationalhvacparts.com.
