The Goodman 0130F00038 is a genuine OEM auxiliary limit switch (light blue) engineered for the Amana AMEC960403ANAB gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This normally-closed thermal safety control monitors heat-exchanger and cabinet temperatures, opening the circuit to shut down the burners if the furnace overheats due to a blocked filter, failed blower, or restricted airflow. A faulty or nuisance-tripping limit switch is one of the most common causes of a furnace that fires the burners but shuts off before reaching temperature.
The OEM Goodman switch is factory-calibrated to the exact trip temperature your furnace's control board expects, ensuring proper safety shutdown and warranty compliance. Aftermarket generic limit switches may fit the terminals but can trip at incorrect setpoints, causing nuisance lockouts or failing to protect the heat exchanger. For a critical safety component we strongly recommend OEM.
Difficulty: Easy (1/5). Cut power at the disconnect, disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and reverse to install. Most homeowners can complete this in under 15 minutes with a nut driver. Verify the furnace fault clears and cycles normally after replacement.
